Al padri grand grand, la mama strìa strìa, i fiei bui bui
The history of my land, the canton of Ticino, told by the witnesses of popular culture linked to the most important tree of our past: the chestnut tree. We've been told that people used to remove their hat passing by a chestnut tree, in sign of respect.
I had the opportunity to collaborate with Federico Rella in the co-authored of this publication. We thought of a purely contemporary way of telling an ancient story, so that it can ensure the palatability even for younger generations. We do not want the knowledge of our ancestors acquired from generation to generation to be forgotten only because of our negligence in the creation of documents in step with the time in which we find ourselves.
Knowing where we come from helps us discover our future.
