Castagno18 - the table
Four legs and a fine slab, entirely made of solid chestnut wood. The interlocking legs are fixed to the top thanx to dovetail joints, the whole thing is finished with beeswax pulled by hand. It is a piece of supreme workmanship, apparently simple, but extremely meticulous in its realization. The little gap between the legs and the top gives it that visual lightness that makes it sophisticated and elegant.
The production chain of the entire Castagno18 collection is very narrow: from cutting wood to creating furniture, everything is done in Ticino within a few kilometers. The chain thus conceived enhances the local wood, and the wealth that derives from it remains for the small working realities of the canton of Ticino, helping them not only economically but also in building a cultural identity specific to the region in which they are located.
